Learn More About The Advancement of Juvenile Justice & Black Youth

Hi my name is Vannice Evans!!! I created this blog as a part of my research project for the American University SPA Advanced Leadership Project. My research question was “Can teaching black youth personal development & financial skills decrease recidivism of Black juveniles in detention centers?” The answers I developed will be within my blog posts, and it will talk about the benefits of giving incarcerated juveniles personal development services and how we can empower the Black youth, who are overrepresented in the Juvenile Justice System. There will also be organizations I will incorporate within my blog that will be dedicated to helping these two groups. Although focusing on just the Juvenile Justice System would attract more viewers, I believe that Black youth deserve to have someone looking out for their betterment.
